Akron Zoo Wild Lights

Admission: Day-of ticket prices for non-members are $15 for adults and $11 for children. Children under two are free, but they must have a ticket to enter the zoo. Non-Akron Zoo members will be charged $3 per vehicle for parking. Tickets can be purchased at the zoo box office or online at akronzoo.org.

During Wild Lights, guests can experience the zoo lit up with thousands and thousands of holiday lights and enjoy themed weekends that include live entertainment, such as roaming carolers, ice-carvers or costumed characters. S'mores and other treats can be bought at Mrs. C's Sweet Shop, and the Komodo Kingdom Café will be open for a variety of food options. Adult beverages will also be available for those 21 and older. After Christmas, from Dec. 26-30, Santa Land will be transformed into Crafts After Christmas with multiple crafts and a Santa chair photo opportunity.

Take a charming lantern-lit tour of the Village and visit the historic houses, delightfully decorated for the season. Experience the sights, sounds and flavors of the holiday season as celebrated in the 19th century Western Reserve. Afterward, join guests for holiday treats.

Tours depart every twenty minutes beginning at 5:40 pm. Dress appropriately for this indoor/outdoor activity. The tour lasts about 90 minutes.

First Night Akron is a New Year's Eve celebration unlike any other. Now in its 22nd year, this community celebration in downtown features the region's best in music, dance, theater, interactive and visual arts.

Visit winterfest at Lock 3 on Sunday, December 31 for ice skating on their 10,000 foot ice rink from 11am – 11:30pm. Skating is $4 (includes rental) and only $2 with your own skates.
